The basis of this scheme is to refund tax you have paid in previous years (yes please!) to help your start-up get up and running. Under this scheme you may be entitled to a refund of up to 41% of the capital funding that you invest in your new company. The amount eligible for refund depends on the amount you plan to invest in the company and is calculated based on tax paid in the previous 6 years. More details on this scheme here
The Back to Work Allowance Enterprise Allowance supports new business start-ups where the entrepreneur starting the business has been out of work for more than twelve months & in receipt of social welfare payments in that period. The big benefit of this scheme is that while you begin your business you will be able to keep your social welfare payment for the first 2 years of your start up journey.
